How
Re-Habitat Works
Re-Habitat for Seniors helps older adults who own and occupy their homes get necessary home repairs and upgrades that help them remain in their homes and maintain their independence.
This is not a “full service” remodeling program. It is a program that identifies health and safety issues that can be completed within a limited budget.
A Hand Up Not a Hand Out
Homeowners will serve eight (8) hours of Sweat Equity for every full $1,000.00 invested on their approved project with a maximum of 80 hours required. Activities to accommodate documented physical limitations are possible.
How Does
Someone Apply?
Albany Area Habitat for Humanity has partnered with the Oregon Cascades West Council of Governments Senior and Disability Services for referral services for the Re-Habitat for Seniors program. The first step is to make sure you meet our program’s income guidelines and that you live in the Greater Albany Public School District. If you do they will refer you to our program. Once we receive your referral we will send you an application packet for you to complete and return to us. We will process your application and let you know if your application was approved.
